Proximity to beach and relaxed, laid-back atmosphere. Helpful manageress.

      Location staff friendly

Unfirtunatly they think they are novel cuisine but they are a long way off water cress on breakfast was a step too far. Expensive for a nights stay also meals over priced in the bar area, and no where to sit for a drink after a. Eal, shame as the location is superb

Very Friendly staff-good restaurant and excellent location The hotel was comfortable but not over luxurious.

      Friendly staff and good breakfast.

Some negatives about the Boat House - no ability to have a shower as there was no cubicle and the shower mixer fitted to the bath tap was rubbish (either scalding or freezing), unbelievably squeaky bed (shame as it was obviously new), nowhere to dry your hair as the mirrors were propped up against the wall rather than being properly hung and they weren't near any sockets, the room was above the toilets for the bar/hotel next door which meant a very noisy and disturbed night until this had closed as the sound insulation was non-existant. Maybe the rooms in the main building are better, but this did not represent value for money.

Food was very good, but service was not up to standard. Some training was needed.Room was no ore than ok, but food, we had seafood, was very good

The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly.

Overall the accomodation is "tired" and needs a Face Lift in some areas. There was no area inside for residents to sit (away from the Kitchen entry and exit) to relax to have a drink/ coffee, before or after dinner. The outside decking area is really lovely but sadly we were not blessed with good weather on this visit to take advantage of this.

I was really disappointed by the Lulworth Mill House. I had the impression that it would be a lovely place to stay given its location and I assumed from the price of the rooms that they would be lovely too. They weren'T. I was led to believe that I would be given the self contained property near the main hotel site but was told on my arrival that this had been changed without notification. The person who I dealt with didn't confirm that he was the manager it said that it was 'someone else's' responsibility for the error and that he would find out what had happened and dicuss it with me the next morning. He did not. Upon taking our room, we were disappointed with the standard of decoration - old - sparse and it felt damp. The flatscreen tv was mounted on the wall closest to the plug rather than viewing comfort - you'd have to be sitting right in the corner to see it without craning your neck. We ate in the hotel restaurant and our order was forgotten. The reason given that 'the wind must have blown it away' and to compensate we were offered a free drink which we were subsequently charged for, which when we queried, the waiter said we were only charged for the first drink we had had but we had had none (because he had forgotten our order), and then blamed the error on another member of staff. We feel that the price charged for staying at this hotel reflects the location only and NOT the standard of the accommodation which is poor. There were some excellent staff but our main experiences were of those that were not either honest, good at their jobs or professional in their handling of errors.

The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. We ate lunch and breakfast at the hotel and the food was of a high quality and was excellent.

The room furnishings were clean but very basic and tired. There was a kitchen extractor fan just outside our window which resulted in the room smelling like a hotel kitchen!! The smell of cooking fat was nauseating. The fan was also very noisy.

It was close to the sea. Although the walk from the car park was not good as I am over 80 and would not choose this place again as it is so restricted by its geographical features. The room we were given at the hotel was abysmal ! it was only as wide as the double bed.so you had to climb over the bed to get to the other side and the windows. It was too small even for a small chair and the bedside shelves were a4 in size..the rightn hand one had been ripped off the wall. The room was so small that the condensation on the windows overnightwas masssive The windowscould not be opened as you would freeze --a third of the room was taken up by the boxed in staircase The evening meal was expensive and the lobster I had was sour and chewy.Although I complained about this and the room no attempt was made to reduce the price .Altogether we were charged £239 for two nights stay and one supper for 2 £100 overcharge in my opinion and I have travelled extensively in my working life

Quaint setting surrounded by stunning countryside. Extremely comfortable room with an imaginative and delicious breakfast.

Conveniently located to sea and walk on hills. The manager is very friendly and helpful.

We stayed in a double room on 1st floor, and 2nd floor rooms seem for use of the hotel staff. As not properly sound proof insulated between 1st and 2nd floor, we heared squeaky walking noise from someone (staff) on 2nd floor. This noise continued till 1 am which disturbed our sleep. The hotel should install porper sound prrof installation.

The breakfast was wonderful, great choice, well cooked and well presented - great location. The large bed in the room was comfortable. Staff were very polite and helpful.

We had a standard room - room 8 - relatively clean but you could hardly lock the door from the inside - the taps leaked badly - the shower was hot and cold, burnt myself once or twice, had to get out of the shower to turn it off too hot to reach through the water spray. You had to be very thin to close the bathroom door to get to the toilet, very small and low toilet and wouldn't pull first time. There was nowhere to dry the towels, the extractor fan was very noisey (everybody elses kept you awake). There had been an effort to brighten the room i.e. new curtains and bed throw and chair to match, but there were no draws to put any clothes in. They had obviously change pictures in the room but the old picture marks were evident. Needed lick of paint to the entire room.

Having been given a ticket for a car park a good way from the hotel we went back and tried to check in. We waited 25 minutes at the bar in the cafe, which we were told was also reception and no one came. We left in disgust and will not be returning. The prices charged are absurd for the facilities available

The food & service was very good, very nice outdoor decking area with good views of the sea

The room was very small, bed comfortable furnishing all good, the bathroom was very tired and not very clean, all the windows need replacing and the plumbing needs alot of attension hense we were keep awake by noisy radiators and air locks in the plumbing systems, the room overlooked the kitchen so we also expericenced noise early in the morning from the extractor fan, The room was also very hot but didnt want to sleep with the windows open as on arrival the windows were open and the room was full of mosquitos, didnt want to risk getting bitten so suffered a very hot room all night with little sleep! I did complain in the morning but was told the bathrooms would all be replaced in January and they know that there are alot of mosquitos around. Feel that this hotel really need to upgrade the rooms as the food and service were very good
